Climbing up on Solsbury Hill ..
perfect for a sunny Boxing Day. It’s just two miles there and back from the house but it is of course mainly up hill.
The skies were blue and the sun was shining from the first today so perfect for our planned walk. We had Mickey Mouse Lego building with breakfast but then we were off with Eda the intrepid leading the way. The views are lovely across to the village where Eda had her Harvest Festival. First stop is always the maze carved out of the land.
The views into Bath from the Trig point we’re straight into the sun though Grace got a good one of Eda sitting on the top of it. Looking forward you can see Bath Hampton and beyond. All in the extra.
There has been quite a lot of rain recently and lots of walkers in this popular place above Bath so unfortunately there was lots of mud through the woods on the way up. We came back the quicker way missing out the woods but that was a mistake as it was mud down a slope! Both Chris and I succumbed! But a bit of mud is easily cleaned off and all in all it was a lovely way to spend Boxing Day morning prior to a leftover sandwiches lunch.
After a lazy afternoon watching ( sleeping though) Lion King 1 1/2, I’ve just watched a lovely sunset over Bath but I believe rain is in the forecast for a couple of days.
Hope you’ve all had a nice relaxing Boxing Day.
