West Dean again .....
You know I'm getting better when I get taken to West Dean for tea! It was a lovely sunny blustery afternoon and the blossom and gardens are coming into their own. Strength still to improve, but each day there is progress. YAY. I might make it to the wedding yet (next weekend).
Here is the little court yard going into the tea room at West Dean. Always has a beautiful display and the espaliered fruit trees on the wall are super productive. The building materials are brick and flint, charming 'vernacular' style according to the blurb, and certainly flint cottages are all over this area because of the easy availabililty of South Downs flint. I love the soft grey contrasting with the hard points of the flint.
