New Years Eve

For us, a New Years Eve with a difference.

The crisis nationally in Accident and Emergency Services is headline news at the moment, and from our first hand experience it’s all true. Incredibly busy, staff run off their feet, ill people on trollies lining all the corridors, and ambulances not able to hand people over because there is nowhere for them to go. Fortunately J is in a safe place away from others and I can come and go when I like.

So I stay until midnight and beyond, and we see the New Year in together, raising a toast with glasses of water. I leave the hospital to the sound and sight of fireworks. Surreal.
