2023 Wednesday — New Garage Door

The installation of a new garage door across our little street was our entertainment all day, from early morning to late after. Watching these two men struggle with the removal of a heavy wooden door was quite interesting. The weight of this heavy door was enormous. They finally sawed the door into several pieces to place it on the truck for removal.

Then they did the panel by panel installation of the new door. The new motor for the mechanical parts of this new door was also installed.

What was most interesting was they worked all day in strong wind and then the rain began. It was cold, windy, and lots of rain. The garage door job was finally completed, and the men were gone.

The rain was consistent all evening and both the rain and the wind grew in strength until our lights were flickering as we were preparing for bed. Power outage was a real potential so candles and flashlights were all placed where we could get to them quickly.

That was our Fourth day of this new year.
