The Lazy Cow!
Contrary to popular belief when I am sat yawning at my desk in the middle of the afternoon, this isn't about me!
I was quite cheered first thing when I saw a couple of emails sent to me after I'd logged off on Friday saying that my dodgy looking test results were fine! So, good test results (sort of) all round after last week. Anyway, it's not for me to question why and I knew I could get stuck in to rebuilding reports for the next couple of days. I like that sort of thing. At least after a few weeks of wading through treacle with my mind on health issues, it was good to feel on the right track again.
After a McDonalds lunch (yes I know it's dreadful!) I went with my pal Nuzhat to House of Frazer, where you can even buy scarves in May. Sorry, I feel the chill still! It's not quite summer in England yet and the gloves are still in my bag. The photo was taken out of the window in the beds section looking down onto the Warwick Road. That pub used to be called the Golden Lion when I was 18 and it used to smell like a public toilet on wet days but they served Courage Directors bitter. I've not been in there since it turned into a posh wine bar type place you'd never guess at from the name. At least they've kept the animal theme...
We tried out some settees and armchairs for fun while we were in there. It's good fun and you can do it when you are an adult without getting told off! I just suddenly had a flashback in time of going to one of these Homebase type stores years ago when I was a very grown up aged ten (I thought) with mom and my aunt plus my four year old cousin. Auntie and mom were looking at kitchens, I was looking at bookcases and as for Yanus - my uncle was Polish - he decided he needed the toilet and did a great big number two in one of the bathroom display toilets and started shouting and screeching when the toilet wouldn't flush like at home. We all fled quickly.....
Happy memories!
Track? Something in a farming theme I think from the Bonzo Dog Doo-Dah Band - Jollity Farm
