Traffic
It rained nearly all day today and our journey to Eastbourne took nearly two hours. The traffic for the last five miles was awful and we changed plans and met No.1 at the restaurant instead. The meal was to celebrate V’s 65th birthday and she was visiting Eastbourne with A&D. The meal was delicious and was investigated as a potential location for post wedding catch up. They have a small area which could be blocked off and would be perfect for lunch/drinks.
No.1 looked well apart from the effects of the increasing steroid dose, hopefully consultant will reduce dose soon when she is feeling a bit better. Lots of chat about the wedding and we all agreed it is going to be an emotion day. We went back to Soverign Harbour for tea and cake and then left for the drive home. Bloody sat nav - we have driven hime from Eastbourne many times and always seem to go a different way - this time down stupid country lanes off the beaten track. Rain, water on the road and the darkness didn’t help but home safe and sound by 8.00 and the suggestion of coffee and bailies kept us going. Unfortunately only enough for one cup so I just had coffee!
Two more episodes of Marie Antoinette completed the day.
