Shoes on, pound the streets,
fun to get out and test knee
after a long break.

Ben slept well and the morning went well, so that was a bonus.  My physio asked me to do a short trial run to see if the work he'd done on the nerve around my knee had a positive impact.  It's been a least a year and a half since I've tried running on it so it felt like a big deal.  I planned a really short route so I didn't feel like I was doing any more damage and also I knew how unfit I would be :-D I really enjoyed it.  I was definitely out of shape and my heart rate was ridiculously high but I did it and my knee felt OK, so fingers crossed.  I have strengthening exercises to do before my next appointment and only one more run allowed, so I definitely won't be overdoing it!
Ben had cycling and swimming at school today so I expected him to be shattered when I picked him up but actually he was just chatty! Full of stories of his day and little random questions.  He went from telling me about splashing water on his teacher in the pool and how there was no vimto at school today to.. "Just one more thing.  You know Simon and Garfunkel?  I know Simon's name is Paul but what's Garfunkel's name?"  His stream of consciousness is quite something to behold.  But he's been manageable at home tonight, so I count it as a win and the chatter as general happiness.
I also had a Home-Start supervision with my coordinator which was lovely and a neighbour came around to give us a little puppy present and have a chat, so overall a good day.
