The best laid plans... (Day 2811)

A day when things didn't quite go to plan.
A job fitting a bath took a lot longer than anticipated and required a trip to town to collect extra bits.
Back home for lunch and a quick change, then out with my beautiful wife to take advantage of a slightly dryer spell of weather to move a new round bale into the horse feeder. The field has dried up a fair bit, but I did manage to get the truck a bit stuck while I was towing the bale. With the bale un-hitched and the truck un-stuck and moved, we managed to drag the bale to the right place.
It was good to spend five minutes surrounded by the horses once the chores were done, and HV and I distributed rose hips, carrots, parsnips and satsumas to the herd. They seemed to enjoy the feed.
As we were leaving the field, HV noticed her phone was missing. We spent ages searching for it in the very muddy field and had almost given up when we discovered it covered over with a mud mat.
Not the way we wanted to spend the afternoon and it made HV a bit late for her overnight shift at work, but at least we found the phone and the horses are very pleased with their new bale.
