What a difference two days makes!

Headed out for some early morning pics and was greeted by star-filled skies as I walked to the beach. I knew there was a chance at some colourful skies!!! To my surprise I was also greeted by a moon-rise, prior to the sunrise. I'm no astronomer, but I thought this to be a little weird. Rarely do I pay attention to what happens in the night/morning skies, but I waited for the few clouds to part, and made sure the setting of choice allowed me to capture the thin crescent moon (likely best viewed in full screen). It was well worth getting up at 5AM and heading to the beach in the dark.
