Winter magic

Today we had a real treat- meeting my two Uni friends M and L and their husbands at Hillier's Gardens. First,we took a leisurely  walk around the  Winter Garden which was looking particularly stunning in the sun, with  highlights being  the flowering Hamamelis (witch hazels), Daphne bholua, Lonicera purpusii (winter flowering honeysuckle), vividly coloured stems of  Salix and  Cornus (dogwood) plus some snowdrops and Cyclamen. Then we had lunch in the  Garden restaurant before resuming our walk. My main shows a corner of the  winter garden  when  we revisited it later in the day, and the extra shows  the frozen pond with duck house in the  foreground.
