A mixed day
Slept reasonably well and was ready for breakfast by 9.30. Our friend Linda didn’t join us as she was still feeling under the weather and opted for more sleep. I took a wander round the shops but refrained from buying anything and headed back to the hotel in time to head off to Caledonia university for the lunchtime sessions. After an unplanned detour when we misread a sign we made it to the Reunion bar where we saw 3 very different acts which were greatly enjoyed by the crowd.
We then headed to Cup tea lounge for a wee bowl of soup. The original building was used as the offices if the Bank of India so the interior is beautifully tiled.
Our plan was to then take in another free event for new acts but I decided to head back and have a bath before getting ready for dinner and Linda headed back for another sleep. We had a booking at 111 by Modou and the three of us who were still standing had a fabulous experience. Standout courses for me were the chicken liver pate (light as air) and the heritage carrots.
I spent a lot of time looking up but my favourite view was these silver teacups and pots in the bar at the university. Thanks to Skeena for hosting.,
