Peregrine Palace
As I walked down into town for the second time, I saw the steeple jacks pulling something up . Later I found out it’s a nest box for Peregrine Falcons. Last year they built on a down pipe and the nests were washed away. I was down for a haircut then back home before going back down again to go out for the Box Office lunch and shift.
Just walked home again (10000+ steps) and catching up before out again to a u3a quiz evening.

Pershore Peregrine Palace now safely installed on the East elevation of our Abbey.
It’s taken many months of hard work to get this installed and we are so very grateful to all who have advised us and helped us to get through the red tape in order to provide this facility for our resident Falcons. Fingers crossed that they accept this and we won’t have a repeat of last year’s breeding drama which sadly saw the eggs washed away from the overflow spout.
This installation is equally important for the maintenance of our ancient Abbey building. Last year we had to delay vital repair work on the roof and pinnacles, not to mention struggling to raise the flag for the Jubilee. Let’s not forget that our Abbey is an amazing survivor of fires and Henry VIII. It’s only standing as it is today thanks to the due diligence of our ancestors, especially the Friends of Pershore Abbey. We need to be able to access the tower as well as accommodate our wildlife so our Architect has specifically designed this to protect both as much as we can.*
