The Seuss Odyssey

Bella’s Middle School play is a delight! It’s The Odyssey as told by Dr. Seuss, created by Don Zolidis, a playwright who was himself a Middle School teacher. It was even performed at the Edinburgh Fringe in 2015.

I am in awe of Bella’s drama teacher. He cast 61 kids in the parts, then had a crew of about 15 more, so there he was, doing rehearsals till 7pm every night for weeks, coaching 61 actors, supervising the lighting, sound, set, makeup, and costumes…and he’s still standing. They should give that man a huge bonus! He didn’t even have an assistant. It runs for three nights (opened yesterday and will close tomorrow), and every seat in a large cafeteria/auditorium was filled tonight.

Main photo is a scene with Odysseus, his crew, and the Sirens in front of the sea Bella created and painted. Extra is Bella, afterwards, with her dad.

I am escaping from the horrors of the murder of Tyre Nichols. I don't need to see the video. I want this nightmare of police brutality to end.
