Teddington Lock
I decided to go to watch the grandchildren’s swimming lessons which are at a little pool in Ham. It is just the other side of the river from us but takes about half an hour to drive and 15 minutes to cycle as it’s only about two miles. They are both making good progress as the teacher pupil ratio is I:3 , confident in the water with goggles on and can ‘ swim’ on back and front . Starting to learn strokes.
It was very busy going across the footbridge at Teddington Lock today. Although rather dismal and grey there were lots of people going both ways for walks, as well as lots of dog walkers. I think lots of people go across and then walk along the towpath either towards Kingston or towards Ham and Richmond.
Al though the structure of the bridge is lovely when you look closely it is looking in need of painting and TLC. Not sure if the council has that on their ‘to do ‘ list for this year.
Later we had the family to lunch, lovely roast beef etc cooked by my husband.
