What a lovely surprise!

Out in the garden, topping up all the bird feeders, plus putting mealworms and grain on the ground. Getting ready to do the annual RSPB bird count.  A neighbour had given me a pot of unpromising straggly leaves about a year ago.  Look what they produced, isn’t it heavenly!
The bird count was the same as last year (which was a mild winter)  - both number of species (11) and numbers of individuals.  I was so pleased - I had thought all that below freezing weather would have caused a lot of them to die.
