Right. Plan B. I don’t think the gym, and more especially the cross trainer, is doing me much good (you were right, freespiral). JR has always, always said to me that I should be concentrating on my CORE, which seems an incredible idea. It’s my legs that don’t work too well… I want to get some strength in them, but five minutes on the cross trainer, with NO improvement is, well, to be blunt - pathetic. So I’m going to improve my balance and strengthen my back muscles. Well, that’s the plan.
I’m already right into it - I’ve done three lots of floor exercises, including a set during half time in the Wales/ Ireland match.
The Six Nations is on again! It’s a really great competition because, on paper, any team could win on the day. I like all the pre-match chit chat too. Gabby Logan is excellent, she’s so knowledgable. In fact, I’ve always followed her career ever since we met her (well, she swept past us) at her wedding venue choice (Gleneagles) about 20 years ago. I knew (of) her husband to be, as he was a Scottish rugby player - Kenny Logan, and said hello to him.
Elizabeth took Archie out, they went to Auntie Helen’s (she’s 96 and still does her own garden). I recorded the England/Scotland match, as we were due over at Hazel’s to see her new painting. And to have a glass of rosé.
We weren’t home when E&A came back, but I heard Archie barking and waved at them from Hazel’s window to come up, which they did. So Elizabeth stayed for a glass or two, and I took Archie home for his tea. Also, mainly, to watch the Scotland/England game. I really didn’t want to accidentally see the score. But what a game! And we won. Again. It’s becoming a habit…
