Diary of an Edinburgher

DAY TWENTY SIX - HOME!

Home at last! Don't think we'll we doing that journey again for a wee while... though Business Class does make it less painful. Assistance in Doha again was greatly appreciated. What a beautiful, peaceful, sparkling clean airport Doha is. In fact, all the Aussie airports were fantastic, with friendly helpful staff... and then we arrived at the national embarrassment that is Edinburgh International Airport... crowds of folk, being shouted at to not touch the barriers and which passport machine to go to. Up several sets of stairs (though there was a lift somewhere). Only one gate open to leave, which caused another bottleneck. And it all just looks rather grubby...

We got a wee shock when we looked out the back door - the metal garden chairs were piled in the corner, the roof of our shed was off. Hazel had actually tidied the place up, and warned us, but I hadn't got the message before we saw it. That must have been some storm!

Elizabeth brought Archie home, and he's snoring in his bed now.

Oops! What's a quokka doing there???
