Dear O'H, Lovely Tea Jenny & Eldest Mini Princess,

I bumped into Lina on the hill earlier and she told me that Bob has had a fall and that’s why he hasn’t been up there recently.

I mentioned it to EMP on the phone earlier and wondered aloud at what point in life you have ‘a fall’ rather than ‘fell’.

Me: “You would never describe a toddler as having a fall.”

EMP: “And you wouldn’t say an older person fell. Everyone knows exactly what ‘a fall’ means”

Me: “Yeah - that the person who fell is elderly. If I ever hear you say that about me, we’ll fall out.”

EMP laughed

Me: “or ‘have a fall out’!!”
