Cautious cat

Four weeks since we brought two feral cats (mother and kitten) from a rescue centre to live in our barn, and this is the moment today when the young one at last decided he was brave enough to peep round the corner from his hiding place while I was putting food down. After I had done food, water and litter tray, I decided so sit quietly in a corner, and after a few more minutes he crept out to eat. He kept looking round at me to make sure I wasn’t doing anything alarming, and after a while went back into his hiding place. Mum obviously didn’t want to join him out in the open, but it was nice to get a proper look at him and I hope they will both gradually become less scared of us.
