Land ahoy!
I liked this shot of Eda captaining her boat at the play park next to Roberts Park in Saltaire this morning.
You can see Salts Mill behind across the River Aire. The calmness of the picture belies the crazy wind that was blowing.
At the point where the path drops down into the park from the bridge Eda could barely stand up! Storm Otto we are told.
It was wild all night but we decided to head out anyway after breakfast and the girls enjoyed the play area which wasn’t too busy. After, of course, we went to the mill and had coffee and milk shakes in Salts Diner. Before leaving we had a look around the unmissable book floor. I got the girls a book each though there were very many more that could have been chosen.
The sun was out when we came out and the wind has dropped now thankfully.
Lunch back home and a bit of craft work before watching a film to give mummy and I a chance to do some jobs. I was altering a pair of trousers for Grace. Chris’s ‘Stressless’ foot stool has been very much in favour for sitting on this visit and in the extra you can see a moment of sisterly tenderness as they watch together.
Just posting this before I make an early tea/supper so that they can get off home about 6.00 pm. Originally she was staying till tomorrow but Grace remembered she’s invited to a 40th. It’s the start of a busy couple of years of celebrations for them both.
A lovely if brief visit, won’t be long till Easter.
