Jigsaw Saturday.
I actually finished this two Saturdays ago whilst watching the first round of 6 Nations rugby games but I left it in the board.
I’m sure some of you will be familiar with it as two other blippers have done it and posted it on blip.
I’ve done several ‘World of..’ jigsaws the last being Agatha Christie, which was a Christmas present, but how could I resist this with the Brontë sisters and their family lived just over the hill from here.
There are scenes and characters from the locality and from the books written by the sisters, Charlotte, Emily and Anne.
Across the top you have to the left The Black Bull frequented
by the brother, Branwell Brontë. It is still there at the top of Haworth Main Street. Next, centre, is the Brontë Parsonage, again still there and open as a museum.
Top right is Wuthering Heights set on the lovely but wild Yorkshire moorland, with its associated characters from the book by Emily Bronte. Heathcliffe to the left of the building and Cathy’s ghost to the right. Below Cathy can also be seen sat in the grounds of Thushcross Grange.
All these details are outlined on the back of the jigsaw picture guide, as in the others I have done, so you can establish who and where people are set if you’re not sure.
I’m posting it today as I’ve removed it from the mat and put it back in the box ready to start another one.
Last week in the Garden Centre, where we go for lunch on Tuesdays, I spotted a jigsaw a half price as there is a great deal of clearance going with the recent taken over by another local centre.
The new jigsaw is a Fine Art Collection one entitled Fairies.
The appeal was a hare hidden in the hedgerow surrounded by spirits and fairies. Think it’s going to be tricky!
The family left just after 6.00pm with the girls fed and ready for bed. They got home at 10.30. Roll on Easter
