At last!

Seem to have been waiting for ages for this Amaryllis to reach this stage.

I bought it before Christmas. I liked the glass jar it came in with just the bulb and some pebbles. It’s been on the top of Chris’s desk in the conservatory and the buds appeared before the stems had grown beyond the rim of the jar. It has grown and grown until it nearly touched the conservatory roof then I noticed a split in the first bud last week when the family were visiting.

I’ve lifted it down now and it has started to open. I don’t have anything that shows it but it looks like it’s going to be red.
Always exciting anticipating the flower opening.
