Manual Antonio

A rest day today in Manuel Antonio. A chance to catch more than a glimpse of the ringed kingfishers who seem to stay still just long enough to get an extra blip.
The pelican was a bit far out to get a decent shot.
The group is a very companionable one, and us solo travellers spent the morning exploring the beach and swimming, of sorts, in the pacific surf. We went our separate ways after lunch which is when I spotted the kingfishers.
The sunset was gorgeous and as I walked up from the beach back to the hotel I was followed by a band of squirrel monkeys.
Dinner was a bit chaotic, we were eating out in a nearby café, ever so often all the lights would go out and a server would appear performing flame tricks in honour of someone’s birthday. Lively and very noisy, but fun to watch.
