Nibbled

Sort of our last holiday day today so we took a trip out to Dawyck Botanic gardens for an amble and look at the trees.  It seems like a very 'pratical' botanic gardens with a focus on trees and foresty, and specific bits dedicated to fungus and lichens.  Some great specimens - sequoias aplenty and a huge Douglas fir which they reckon had been nibbled by a deer or got frost bitten as a sapling, which meant that it grew out ratehr than straight up.  The snowdrops were an obvious highlight too, with huge carpets of them across the gardens.  Blip has to be of the pine cones which had been nibbled by various squirrels to make these cool structures.  I think they might even be red ones, though we didn't see any.
