Diary of an Edinburgher

By LadyMarchmont

Archie and I walked round to the Red Box and met JR when she came home from the gym. We were having brunch there for a treat. It was quiet at 10.30, with quite a few empty (but booked) tables - it all happens at 11am! We both had splendid breakfasts. JR had urged me to ‘make a sensible choice’ and you can see that I did! (French toast, maple syrup, berries and crispy bacon). A good way to start the day (but not every day, of course).

After a brief stroll round the block with Arch (so that my step count was at least in double figures) I retired to the sofa for the rest of the day, with only a few scurries to the fridge, the coffee machine and the toilet to add to my step count.

A couple of games of rugby, the Italy/Ireland one was a good game, but the England/Wales game was uninspiring. I wanted Wales to win, as they’re all a bit depressed at the moment.

Archie went off out for the day with Elizabeth, and they walked down to Inverleith Park to meet up with a pal. They walked back too, so almost 20,000 steps. He’ll sleep well tonight.

After I’d watched the rugby, I watched Murray’s game the final in the Doha Open. I made sure I didn’t look at any news to accidentally catch whether he won it or not, so I’m watching it now. (Dont tell me!) I must say, my new specs are excellent for watching tennis! I could be a line judge now.

A very good day of sport. And another big game tomorrow - Scotland v France.

PS He didn’t win.
