24 hours of Aurora borealis, over home
What a treat - northern lights two nights in a row. Yesterday shining really brightly, tonight slightly less so, but both nights arching right across from one horizon to the other.
This picture was taken last night when there was a little cloud around and the half-moon is over Betty's.
In the first extra (taken 30 minutes ago) there's more-or-less the same view but the snow slid off the roof during the day, the sky is clearer, and the aurora is dimmer but more wide-spread. In the other extra the camera is looking north, above the Red House.
Interestingly the camera captures a subtlely different view to the eyes. The light is a little brighter in the photo than it is in real life and I could hardly see the red light at all that is quite prominent in the second extra.
