More Lucky Numbers
Here's another wonderful sales promotional piece that arrived in our mailbox a few days ago. Lacking the high-tech gimmick of the last one, it tries to compensate with its overwhelming size (34in/86cm X 22in/56cm), and the key -- though there's no mention of the key in the verbiage.
The prizes most likely to be won -- odds of 14,998:15,000 -- are a $2 lottery ticket and a Commemorative Presidential Coin ($1 value). The odds for the valuable prizes are 1:15,000. That's not too bad for a free drawing with a top prize of $20,000 or a new 2013 car.
Promotions like these are run by an independent marketing company. They're supposedly legitimate. Since most people aren't much more enthusiastic about them than I am, it's probably rare that the big prizes are claimed. The dealers buy insurance to compensate them in case that happens.
