Lunch stop …
… in the little village of Cerro Castillo (Castle Peak) where we had a delicious meal in a quirky converted bus cafe, a homely warm place welcoming hikers, bikers, campers, stray dogs and anyone else just passing through. The homemade bread with Chilean ají, a spicy chillie sauce, tasted wonderful and we loved the fun atmosphere.
Tomorrow we climb the Cerro Castillo to see the Laguna Cerro Castillo (a glacial green/blue lagoon) at the peak. Sunny clear weather is forecast and we do need it for this climb.
