Ladies Night

Dad came home with this programme that Stuart had given him after Jeannie's funeral yesterday.  He had three suitcases of photos and precious memories that she had kept all jumbled up...

For both our sets of parents and many other families that I knew very well at that time the Addiscombe and Shirley Round Table was a very active social/fundraising club for men.

At this particular event, 50 years ago, for the first time ever a woman from the Ladies Circle (which happened to be my Mum) did a speech!   The programme is signed on the back by a loads of clearly 'merry' people (including Jeannie, Gordon and my parents), though why there is a picture of a man on the toilet is anyone's guess.
