KNOWING MY LIMITS
We walked to the nearest village for an enormous and excellent Sunday lunch in the pub and then headed up into the hills to walk back along the Wessex Ridgeway to the farm. I've had a painful right knee for a few weeks and have an embarrassing lack of stamina so when the others wanted to do an extra few miles to visit the village where one of our aunties used to live when we were little, I decided I'd head back to the stables on my own. Here they are setting off, while I had a somewhat erratic walk back heading off-track a few times but seeing a hare, some deer and buzzards on my way. The woods in that area are full of primroses and violets now and will be full of ramsons and bluebells in a few weeks - really pretty.
