Something Different

7.30am the Cygnet came through this morning ........... that is an improvement.
We then had a lazy time and stayed in bed for another 2 hours.

After breakfast we headed off to the museum ............... the National Museum Of Rural Life at East Kilbride.

The 'trailer' ride on the back of the tractor up to the farm was --- interesting.
The Cygnet wasn't too keen on being thrown about a bit and my back wasn't particularly happy about the experience either.
But we had one to one with the staff which was quite good because we got lots of information about the cows (complete with earrings) , pigs (who seemed quite interested in shoes for some reason) and horses - and also the family who had owned the farm since 1587 until the last of the line handed it over to the National Trust in the 1990s.

We walked back down to the museum building (rather than wait for and risk the tractor ride) and when I saw the gates - old and new I thought of a certain lady who seems to be MIA and her love of gates.
