Chasing the Whale
A slow start to the morning but managed to get a bit of work done in the end. Took the afternoon off to visit E for lunch in Farnborough, listening to Dire Straits on the drive up. She broke down in tears telling me what it was like to watch someone she loved die before her eyes. Didn't really know what to say but I hope it helped her to talk about it. Then home via Waitrose to prepare a pretentious vegan curry for movie night with D&A. Avoided a breakdown with the main course this time, and it seemed to go down well. Particularly enjoyed their beetroot hummus and sourdough starter. Watched The Whale by Darren Aronofsky, which was just relentlessly sad. I think there was a Moby Dick analogy in there but not exactly sure who was meant to be Ahab. Probably himself.
