Chicken training

No, not training the chickens (impossible task), but learning how to take care of P & T's chickens and in particular, how to clean them out.
P & T are going on their long delayed honeymoon to the west of the USA and whereas it is OK to ask the neighbours to feed the chucks and collect the eggs, it is too much to ask them to clean them out.  So the mothers have been "invited to stay" and clean out the hens at the correct points in the 3 weeks they are away. I am now trained and have also been given the recipe for their favourite treat (sweet corn, oats and sardines in case you are wondering). I was fed before returning home with two pies from the village butchers in Brampton to keep the man.
Before this excitement, I had the fun of an OU day school with another tutor and lots of students.  So much fun was had by all.
