Cakes

I had invited M for lunch today but she text earlier in the week to change it to coffee (not sure why?).  We had a lovely chat and she had a cheese scone that I made earlier in the week (which freeze well).  She is in a bad way with her hernia and hoping she can hold on for surgery until after S's wedding in May.  She has elective surgery planned on 26th May (the benefits of private medicine and I dread to think what state she would be in if she was reliant on the NHS).  We enjoyed a walk around the garden and she shares my passion for plants and all things green and growing.

She left around 1.00 and I was not sure what to do with myself but had a few errands to do.  My brother rang while I was driving so I had a detour to a garden centre and spoke to him for an hour or so while I sat in the car enjoying the sunshine.  I also spoke to No.1 who was walking to lunch with a friend.  I bought a few more bedding plants (why not?) and then drove home to pot them up.

OH back from golf around 4.00 just as the weather turned and it started to rain, but I am glad he had the best of the weather for his game.  I then decided to make some cakes (told M about the cake tins which I bought from Lakeland so sent her a picture).  I had an hour or so before dinner so decided to finish the tapestry cushion I am making for my brother. I got the sewing machine out and was reasonably pleased with the way it turned out.

OH didn't want dinner as he had a meal at golf so I had the rest of the left over stir fry.  We started watching a new series called Magpie Murders which we enjoyed (albeit you need to concentrate.

No.2 went to Amsterdam for a few days and sent me a picture of a few tulips.

OK day.
