Gardener’s friend

A shorter trip to the hospital and back today, which gave me an opportunity to finish off mulching the front garden this afternoon. I’d mulched the back garden last week.

I have been assisted in my gardening efforts by the local starlings. A small flock occasionally lands and picks out the leather jackets. These larvae of the crane fly/daddy long legs feast on grass roots, so it’s a big thumbs up to those starlings.
