Leave a Light On

Today was supposed to be a “rest” day in between trips to Chester, but it’s actually been non-stop. Most of the morning was spent dealing with emails regarding the flat sale, listing surplus furniture and suchlike on sell and seek and then arranging times for collection as some things were snatched up almost immediately! Eventually had to break off and head down to Morecambe for the bank pensioners club AGM lunch. A new venue this year - Morecambe Golf Club - and they did us proud. An excellent meal and equally excellent service. Quite a long afternoon though and when I got home there was another load of emails regarding the flat sale to deal with and more people wanting to buy our surplus possessions.
The bedside tables were picked up on time but the man who wanted the telly didn’t know when he could come and collect. As I needed to pop out and get a pint of milk I asked if I could deliver it to him. No problem, but he wasn’t at home, he was fishing by the river and his wife wasn’t picking him up until later. However, he said just bring it down to the river, he’d put it on the bank until he’d finished fishing! Probably the weirdest sell and seek transaction I’ve had, but the surplus telly has gone, there’s money in my wallet and I got the milk I wanted.
We bought some quite cheap solar lights last week to dot around the garden. It seems you get what you pay for though, as they’re not the brightest things I’ve ever seen and I’m not sure they will last the night out. Let’s hope Mrs C gets home soon, whilst there is still a glimmer of light to show her where the door is!
