Ducklings! The first ones for the year at Shubie Park. I did most of my weekend chores on Saturday evening so I would have time for a walk at Shubie before going to brunch. I was glad that I went over at 8:30. By the time I left the parking lot was full. There was a group of about 275 kids there for a fun run and part of it was happening on one of the trails I was on. Fortunately I was leaving just as it was starting.
I saw some photos yesterday so I knew that there were ducklings there and I was looking for them. There is 7 of them. I am sure there will be more by next weekend.
I just had a murder of about 40 crows come in and land in a couple of trees, they stayed for a few minutes, then left again.
I am meeting with another contractor tomorrow afternoon. It will be interesting to see what he has to offer. We used to work together on some jobs, then he put his prices up one year and didn't bother to tell me or send me an invoice until the end of the season. So we parted ways when I refused to pay the difference. And there was no way I was going to back track and charge my customers the difference, he should have told me at the beginning of the season. Anyways, he wants to suck up to me again, since he knows nothing about gardening. All he is capable of doing is mowing lawns and spreading mulch. It's not like I need the extra work. I'm curious what made him contact me again.
