2023 Monday — Leftovers

Anniversary Month -- Day 9

I really am not a fan of "leftovers" for dinner, but every now and then I fix something for our evening meal and there's enough left for another meal and if it's meatloaf or lasagna it's even better the second time.

This celebration message is "leftovers" from several years ago. With just a couple small revisions, it could have been written today.

In some ways this year’s anniversary can seem rather subdued; it doesn’t end in a zero or a five. Cake and champagne for two could be an option, but pinching ourselves and reminiscing about the “I do” moment 58 years ago are not.

It’s been an amazing and, at moments, terrifying journey with the spice of work, hardship, and endurance, and now retirement, but mostly Mr. Fun & I know our path has been marked by miracles that only come from God.

This month is filled with gratitude and thanks. We’ve sipped from life’s goblet and often have tasted surprise and thrill. Right now we are wondering where 58 years went. Poof! Thankfully, we have zillions of memories; revisiting them is part of this month’s celebration.
