Friday
Day 3 Radiotherapy treatment
Started the day with my next radiotherapy appointment , in and out really quickly , just me again .
Popped in to Tesco to get a drink and sandwich. Got my photos done for renewing my passport and to apply for a Blue Badge.
Dropped a spare wheel for the land rover off at the garage for the new owner and then Mike went to Wickes to get some caps for the fence.
There was a drone flying above us, I think it was something to do with pest control, probably looking at the numerous gulls that nest on the roofs.
Then we were on our way. Had a bacon and egg roll near Garve just incase we could not get something further on.
We decided to take abit of a detour and headed towards Loch Carron. We started in cloud but the sun soon came out and the journey was beautiful.
We stopped and found a bench to have a cup of tea and cake. Very peaceful except for the bird song, including a cuckoo. We downloaded the Merlin bird song app and straight away it came up with Cuckoo, blackbird, chaffinch and blackcap, such a clever app.
We then went down to Stome Castle. It was different to how we remembered from our visit about 14 years ago.
Great views across to Skye. I walked up some of the way up to the castle but could not make it all the way, so I sat on a step while Mike went the rest of the way.really hot and sunny by now.
On towards Kishorn where we stopped for lunch at the Kishorn seafood bar. Excellent food, we had a salmon open sandwich and smoked salmon fillet which we shared.we sat in a little sheltered hut
We took a selfie in the phone box . Spotted a few deer , one in someone’s garden eating their plants.
Fantastic views all the way through the mountains to Torridon and beyond.
Stopped at Shieldaig for an icecream. I do like it there :)
On to our hotel in Gairloch. A lovely room over looking the sea.
We walked down to the beach at sunset and had our sandwich . A cold drink in the bar afterwards and then back to our room to see the rest of the sunset.
