Making the bed
I have had such a busy day of exercise, work on campus, cooking (including a batch of delicious squash and red pepper soup), and bed building in our newly decorated spare bedroom.
While I was on campus delivering a presentation this afternoon, our friend Sean picked up Mr hazelh to take him to Corstorphine and collect the bedroom furniture that we saw the Saturday before last. They came back to our flat with the bed dismantled, and the two bedside tables. When I returned from campus, Mr hazelh had started putting the bed together. I helped a little with the process. Here is the bed in the middle of reconstruction.
It's a pity that the mattress that was delivered yesterday is damaged, and actually rather more than we first thought. Here is the list that I communicated to the supplier this morning:
1. There is a dark, wet stain on the mattress cover.
2. It is not possible to remove the mattress cover because there is an area where it is glued to the mattress foam.
3. There is dirt on the mattress itself.
4. The mattress foam does not expand fully.
5. The mattress foam on the edge of the mattress is puckered.
6. There are holes in the mattress foam.
I have been assured that a replacement is on its way and the offending article will be removed free of charge.
Exercise today: 35 minutes on the exercise bike; aquafit class; strength training class; walking (15,535 steps).
