Apple blossom
The apple trees are really doing their thing at the moment with plenty of blossoms. P is optimistic about fruit for this year, but it'll need to survive the bud stage and our very hungry birds in the garden. Saw our first bullfinch in the garden the other day and was excited, then realised it was going for the apple buds and got less excited. Ah well. One of the aims for the garden is to bring in some more biodiversity and reduce the gravel desert. Slowly but surely we'll get there.
Been having a nostalgic music week. Got chatting about Kathleen Hanna and then moment later received a message from my friend J about how she heard Bikini Kill on the radio which then made be delve back into Le Tigre and Sleater Kinney for a bit. Plus I rememberes I had the re-wired version of the Lamb Lies Down on Broadway on my computer so transferred that to my phone for a good old listen. Riot Grrrl and Prog Rock might not be the most normal bedfellows but I'm enjoying the combination.
Trying not the read the news articles that have appeared about climate change passing the 1.5 degree mark by 2027... Doesn't help me thinking about my pension which I'm back to doing again too. I'm in the 'I should save more for my pension' headspace but also the 'there might not even be a financial system that exists when it comes around to claiming a pension, so enjoy your money whilst you can' headspace. The former will likley win out but the latter means it will be grudging.
