Cactus

A day of admin, mostly writing  notes for my Mother's  Continuing Health Care assessment  meeting next week. 
I think this is called an Easter cactus. It's quite an exotic looking flower despite the  plant being rather non -descript.  
Finished reading Monica Ali's  latest book, "Love Marriage". I enjoyed it nearly as much as "Brick Lane" . I love  Ali's eye for detail, and there  were some exquisitely  observed  cameos.. The female protagonist is a young  doctor  working on a geriatric  ward; I particularly liked  the description  of  the  boss, Professor Shah,  by one of her colleagues  as "The Omar Sharif of Elderly  Care" .
