TOP OF THE DALE

Following a splendid lunch we took a tour up to the top of the valley to visit the church of St Chad, Middlesmoor. Standing at around 300m above sea level, the church commands fine views over Upper Nidderdale. The water in the far distance is Gouthwaite Reservoir. A wonderful little Village of only around sixteen houses, one church, one pub and a host of four wheel drives large and small! you just know its a place only for the hardy come winter. There are a few more photos here taken as I drove up past the reservoir plus some I took this morning in the woods which I had intended to blip today, waste not want not as the saying goes!
