Fresh coconut!

It’s a very long time since I have had a fresh coconut in the U.K.,,  this is the one that our grandson won in the coconut shy at his school fair yesterday. 

We managed to get some coconut milk out first by using a skewer and a hammer and then they had fun dropping it on the paving to get it to crack. Although they have had coconut milk drinks and like coconut in food this is the first time they had actually engaged with a real fresh coconut! Maybe at some point they will go on a holiday to a country where they grow.

A day of mixed weather, quite cold at one point so a coat was needed and then the sun came out later.
