Twinkle Toes

D Day !

No 3 has her first Ballet Exam today. She was very excited as she had to leave school early. There's an exam atmosphere about the studio. Whispering children , shushing adults, the taste of hairspray in the air, new socks, and hair pulled so tight it would lift the wrinkles off Nora Batty's stockings !

No sign of nerves from No 3 - she just wanted to get on with it.

The big girls have their turn later in the week.

No 1 is planning a shopping expedition to Glasgow tomorrow with some friends. I kept telling her she would LOVE it ! Compared to Edinburgh (which is often like a big village) - Glasgow is bigger, dirtier, friendlier, busier, and EVERYONE talks to you. She mentioned that all her friend's parents were worried about their offspring's safety.

Nah ! Glasgow's miles better (as they used to say) - and as a Proud Weegie, I obviously have a slightly biased view.

I bet her that when she came back after only a day, she will want to go to university there. And I am very jealous (note to self - Glasgow trip soon!).

I was a bit alarmed after discussing possible English exam results with No 3, she let slip that she thought 'SUPPOSED' was pronounced (and spelled) 'SUPPOST' - and sometimes 'SURPOST'.

I'm frightened now.

Here's No 3 demonstrating her First Position (excuse the scabby knees!)
