Today's the day ................... for Spring Fling

This is a very important weekend in Dumfries & Galloway if you are in any way interested in the creative arts - because it's when 100 studios across the region are open to the public, in the event that is known as 'Spring Fling' 

You really could spend the whole Bank Holiday weekend visiting venues and not even come close to experiencing all that is on offer.  So, we limited ourselves to just a couple!  The above is one of the prints of Suzanne Stuart Davies.  It was particularly nice to see her and her fine artwork and other items because she is a former work colleague of Will.

We also went to see Janet Ibbotson in her delightful studio in Auchencairn.  She designs and makes beautiful garments - jackets and coats - cut to her own patterns.  She's also paints watercolours, some of which she turns into embroideries for the sheer cashmere scarves that she also makes.

Suffice to say, that I now find myself - the proud owner of one of her elegant jackets .................!
