Canal reflections

Out early on the bicycle across to the Meadows; the Mound and George IV bridge closed to traffic,  for the Marathon. Lots of runners walking in to the start at Potterrow. Along Gilmore Place to the canal.  Quiet cool calm morning, ideal for cycling and running. Not much wildlife on the water, though there were a couple of rowers.  Worked the bicycle down the steps by the viaduct to the Water of Leith, back by Saughton Park, Murrayfield, the Roseburn Path and Inverleith. Lots of bright synthetic fluff residue in the path edges from the fans at the Murrayfield events.

Trip to Ikea with a neighbour; later on, assistance for the same neighbour who had managed to lock herself out.
