Touchdown.
All good things must come to an end! Today we are heading home, first, we made time for an hour on the reserve for some more Kingfisher shots. As we headed back to the car we got shots of other birds including the tern in flight.
I am not good at keeping moving birds in the viewfinder and in focus. So I was pleased to be able to get a series of shots of this drake tufted Duck as it came in to land. Tufties are a small diving duck, there are in the region of 18,000 breeding pairs in UK. Many more arrive for the winter from as far away as central Russia. In winter some sites have up to 10,000 Tufties.
After Breakfast at the garden centre, we hitched up the caravan and had a remarkably trouble free run home.
