….. of the sixteen tubes filled and sealed by red mason bees this year. New adults will hopefully emerge next Spring to start the whole process over again.

Top right is a cell completed last year by a leafcutter bee. Whether new bees emerge from this and the other leaf-cutter cells remains to be seen, they are much flimsier seals than the firm dried mud ones of the masons.
