Today's the day ...................... to blow out the candles

We've had such a lovely weekend with the girls, helped in no small part by the glorious weather.

It's Josie's birthday tomorrow and there are lots of things planned for that - but we thought we would have a little pre-birthday celebration today.  Because we won't be there tomorrow, we gave Josie her present today, which included those sunglasses.  Tessa did a great job of decorating the lemon drizzle cake - complete with five candles.  We sang (a special version!) of Happy Birthday to you and Josie blew out the candles.  It was very special.

And now that we're back on our own this evening, we're off to the very last gig of the Kirkcudbright Jazz Festival.  It has also been a great success because of the good weather - and tonight we will have the pleasure of listening to Ewan Bleach and his band, one of my absolute favourite saxophone players.

Life is so good ....................!
